Achievements
2000 Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada: In recognition of work that "has been instrumental in effecting a fundamental paradigm shift in Musicology" and of being "a leading architect of post-War critical musicology concerned with understanding music as a form of human expression that is socially constituted".
