Under the guidance of percussionists who perform regularly with the National Arts Centre Orchestra, students in the percussion sector receive excellent training in classical and concert band percussion instruments. Instruments include snare drum, timpani, keyboard-percussion, xylophone, marimba, vibraphone (two and four mallets), as well as standard and orchestral instruments (tambourine, triangle, bass drum, cymbals, castanets, etc.) to learn accessory-percussion techniques. Studies involve solo, chamber and orchestral repertoire.
